Alternative Table Centerpieces

Gone are the days when every wedding reception has to have large floral centerpieces. More and more, couples are realizing the importance of making their wedding day a reflection of themselves, both personally and as a couple. One of the best ways to emphasize personal style is through alternative reception table centerpieces. Reception Alternative Table Centerpieces

Here are some examples of creative and elegant centerpieces:

1. Place a large amount of rock salt on the center of the table. Place neutral colored candles in varying sizes, from pillars to tea lights, in the rock salt. Keep lit the entire reception for a simply elegant look.

2. To enhance an Asian-themed reception use large, clear, square-shaped bowls filled with smooth rocks, a small amount of distilled water and three to four pieces of bamboo in varying heights.

3. To create a stunning look fill a large vase or bowl with distilled water and a large floater candle. Use coordinating flower petals to place around the outside of the vase or bowl.

4. My favorite idea for a rectangular table centerpiece is to take an inexpensive bedroom door mirror and place it down in the center of the table. You can paint to sides of the mirror to coordinate with your wedding colors. Place large and small candles in the same color on the mirror. Sprinkle silver or gold confetti on the mirror once the candles are in place. The effect is both, eye-popping and dramatic. I have used this numerous times on my coffee table at cocktail parties. It's always a big hit with my guests!

Remember, above all, the wedding reception should be a fun time for everyone. Keep things personalized, simple and elegant. Do not be afraid to let your creativity shine!
