A Destination Wedding... Down Home!Planning the wedding of your dreams? Want to travel somewhere fun and exciting that is all inclusive and budget friendly? Keep your travels close to home with a vacation feel. Plan a destination wedding close to home.
While you enjoy the thought of planning a destination wedding in a far off tropical paradise, your budget may not allow it. Family and friends want to be included in your “big day” but may not be able to afford the time or expense of a big trip. These are two good reasons to bring that destination wedding to life with a local twist close to home. With the Midwest expanding their local attractions and venues, now is a great time to take advantage of this new flare for your wedding day.
Starting your search is easy given modern technology. Get on the Internet and browse a while. Look for venues and attractions that offer an array of activities for the children to the adults. Look for places that offer activities that you and your guests can take advantage of both before and after your wedding day. Your guests are traveling to attend the wedding first and foremost, but knowing they also want to enjoy their down time they will appreciate you keeping them in mind. Look for a resort or destination that offers various on-site activities for your guests. This can help to minimize their costs and keep them having fun. Call and ask for a complete list of the activities they offer and others in close proximity to their establishment. Also, do some research yourself to find out all the options that are nearby. Depending on the time of year look for golf courses, parks, skiing, zoos, movie theaters, restaurants, family fun parks, etc.
When it comes to the actual wedding, look for a location that offers an all-inclusive package option to simplify your planning. The package should include sites for your rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and gift opening. Considering your budget, ask about discounts available to you based on the number of guests you are expecting. Also find out if they have an on-site wedding coordinator to help with the details since you are planning from a distance. Be sure to do your homework and set up a time to visit the destination before you book. Once you are set get everything in writing so that the details you discussed are not forgotten.
A new venue in the Midwest, King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort, is able to accommodate all your wedding needs to include a wedding room block for your family and friends, event space for your rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception and gift opening. Your guests, whether they stay or come to play, will have an array of activities to choose from. King’s Pointe offers an outdoor and indoor waterpark, an on-site restaurant – the Regatta Grille, and plenty of outdoor recreation. Located right on the shores of Storm Lake, IA, King’s Pointe offers boat rentals, water sports and golfing. For the outdoor enthusiast, bike and roller blade rental enables enjoyment of the local eight mile trail right out the back door of the property. While your guests are relaxing and having fun, you can too, knowing they were pampered and had their own mini vacation at an affordable local destination wedding.
