The bridesmaids have been known to throw this bash. But really any women will do! Mothers of the bride or groom tend to get heavily involved in this party. Of course now a days this party isn't limited to just the women. Co-ed events are taking place far more frequently. Here is where the gift gathering begins.
Whose Involved: only those who you are sure will get the official invite to the wedding. (exception: the office shower. Co-workers won't expect an invite in return for a small office only gathering.)
Why: a party to load the couple up with essentials! That's right, from crystal to cameras to lingerie, brides-to-be generally get spoiled!
When: Ideally a few months before the wedding. This will give the bride time to go back to her gift registry and make adjustments. For the more daring brides, these are sometimes planned within a week or two of the wedding and coupled with the bachelorette party!
