Spring has sprung, and now is the time to start thinking bridal showers!  Traditionally, one or more of your closest friends, generally your bridesmaids, hosts your bridal shower.  In many cases, future in-laws also host a bridal shower for the bride to help her celebrate.

We’ve compiled some of our favorite themes to help your friends plan the perfect bridal shower.

Monograms & Mimosas

What better way than this to help a bride get accustomed to her new initials!  This theme asks guests to adorn the bride with gifts that include the happy couple’s monogram, while sipping on delicious mimosas.  This theme lends itself to a mid-morning event with a light brunch.

We love the idea of offering a mimosa bar complete with various fruit juices, champagne and frozen fruits (like raspberries, blueberries and strawberries) for garnish.

Be sure to let your guests know what the couple’s monogram is on the invitation.  A couple’s monogram starts with the bride’s first initial on the left, the groom’s last initial in the center, followed by the groom’s first initial on the right.  Generally, the last name’s initial (in the center) is larger than the other two letters.

April Showers

We are all familiar with the rhyme, “April showers bring May flowers,” and what a perfect spring theme for a bridal shower.

Most commonly paired with a “tea” theme, recommended décor for this shower would follow a vintage motif with umbrellas and unique antique cups and saucers.   Finger sandwiches and two or three types of tea would make the ideal menu for this theme.

To help your guests “shower” the bride with gifts, include the couple’s registry–either directly on the invitation or on a separate card included in the envelope.

Stock the Kitchen

A perfect shower to help the newlyweds-to-be stock their kitchen with new gadgets and utensils.

There are many variations to this type of bridal shower, such as requesting that guests bring a kitchen item for the bride-to-be. Or the hosts can include a recipe card with the invitation, asking guests to pass on a favorite recipe to the couple.

This theme should, of course, include food, food, and more food!  The hosts may want to hire a personal chef to create unique meals for the party, or host an at-home kitchen party (like Pampered Chef).

No matter the theme, remember– the shower is supposed to be fun!  Invite the bride’s closest family and friends, and spend a few hours together talking about the happy couple and wishing them the best of luck for the future.
